Site Introduction

Feel free to add information to those areas and any connecting articles, or add your own articles if they do not already exist. Please remember to keep all information as neutral as possible.

Despite the similar format, Asawiki does not strive to compete with Wikipedia but rather to supplement that content with additional information and links that are not acceptable for the encyclopedic-nature of Wikipedia. So while Asawiki is intended to be a wiki resource for Heathens by Heathens, we also suggest browsing Wikipedia's Heathenism Portal.

Asawiki Project Categories

The categories listed below will take you to a list of all the articles related to each topic. Many others exist, but these are Asawiki's "top level" categories that will likely have several subcategories within them. Please see the Project Portals at the top-right for a "prettier" presentation of materials.

Authors - Information on published authors, past and present.

Deities

Dictionary - Words and phrases with pronunciations, meanings, and etymologies.

Heroes

Internet Heathenry - Online communities, blogs and resources for heathens.

Library - Information on the various heathen primary (and later) sources.

Locations - Important places within Midgard and elsewhere.

News - Summaries of, and links to, the latest goings-on in the heathen world.

Organizations Portal - Category - Brief introductions of heathen organizations around the world.

Poetry

Runes - Mundane, divinitory, and magical information about the various runic systems.

Timeline - Chronological lists of important and relevant dates.

Pages Needed - An autogenerated list of pages that have not yet been created but are linked to by other pages.

Site Updates

May 8, 2008: Major permission changes are in the works to end our spam problem. These changes will be overly prohibitive at first, but hopefully we will be able to lift some restrictions later (like after the spambots forget about us). Everything honest users need to know will be put here on the main page. Thanks again for your patience.

April 9, 2008: Asawiki's fight against spam users and pages continues. Our apologies for any clutter you may see before we delete it. We are working on a more permanently viable solution to this problem.

January 29, 2008: Despite the lack of notes on the main page, many pages have been added in the past year (since the last update). Chartan has created an Organizations Portal as the first step in creating a solid structure for the articles here on Asawiki.

February 25, 2007: Software updated to Mediawiki 1.9.3. Asawiki Deutsch brought online.

  • Site Organization: View the Asawiki:Site Organization to learn about the main divisions within the Asawiki project.
  • Community Portal: Click the Community Portal link on the navigation. Make project requests on this page.
  • Discussion pages: Click the discussion tab at the top of the page. Use these pages to suggest and discuss proposed changes to a page before editing.
  • Editing pages:
    • Edit an entire article: Click the edit tab at the top of the page.
    • Edit a section within an article: Click the edit link to the right of the section's title.
  • Log in or account creation: Click the Log in / create account link at the upper right corner of any page.
